Sunday 31st August saw Curborough come alive once again for our annual Charity Day, held in support of the ‘Staffordhsire Charity for Young People’ (SCYP).After all the planning, preparation and anticipation, it was fantastic to see such a large turnout come through the gates and support what is always a very special day in the Curborough calendar.
The day didn’t get off to quite the start we had hoped for, with a heavy downpour of rain greeting us as the event got underway. Thankfully, the rain passed through quickly and, apart from the odd very brief shower, the weather settled down nicely. By the afternoon, the rain had thankfully held off, allowing everyone to make the most of the event.
Cars, Bikes and Plenty to Enjoy
With a fantastic selection of cars and bikes on show, there was plenty for enthusiasts to admire throughout the day. The improved weather meant that the large number of visitors could wander around, take in the displays and enjoy the atmosphere that makes the Curborough Charity Day such an enjoyable event.
Away from the vehicles, the food and drink hospitality also proved popular, giving everyone the opportunity to relax, catch up with friends and enjoy the day.
It was particularly pleasing to see so many people continuing to support the event despite the rather damp start. The enthusiasm of those attending really helped create a great atmosphere, and it was clear that everyone was determined to make the most of the day.
Raising Money for the SCYP
Of course, the most important part of the day is the reason we come together raising money for SCYP.
Last year’s Charity Day raised an incredible £16,500, setting a fantastic benchmark and demonstrating just how generous the Curborough community and everyone attending the event can be. While we are still finalising the figures for this year’s event, we are hugely grateful to everyone who contributed in any way. Every entry, donation, purchase and contribution helps us support SCYP and the important work they do.
An event of this size doesn’t happen without a huge amount of work behind the scenes, and there are many people who deserve recognition. A massive thank you goes to everyone who helped organise and run the day, our volunteers, marshals, exhibitors, car and bike owners, caterers and everyone else who gave their time and support. And, most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along.
Despite the wet start, the weather eventually played its part, and the large attendance helped make the 2026 Curborough Charity Day another memorable occasion. Seeing so many people enjoying the cars and bikes, catching up with friends and making the most of the food, drink and hospitality was a fantastic reward for everyone involved.
The Charity Day is a great example of what can be achieved when the Curborough community comes together for a good cause. We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s continued support of SCYP, and we look forward to building on the success of another fantastic day.
